Human Resources Manager
MAIN DUTIES:
-Develops, recommends and implements human resource policies and procedures; maintains and updates corporate employee handbook and corporate managers workbook as needed.
-Supports, coaches and advises location management teams in the appropriate resolution of employee related issues, i.e., disciplinary situations, termination’s and the appropriate and necessary documentation.
-Handles employee relations and makes appropriate recommendations based on consistent company practices. Must maintain a neutral composure at all times.
-Conducts new employee benefits orientation and coordinates location’s benefits administration through corporate HR department.
-Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
-Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, timeliness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
-Manages the internal transfer process for all location personnel, communicates options and makes recommendations for most appropriate position based on individual’s career path. Maintains all required documentation.
-Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind voluntary separations and prepares all separation notices and related documentation and forwards to corporate HR department.
-Assist / conducts human resource training and development of supervisory personnel.
-Establish and maintain personnel files and Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
-Handles all location unemployment, wage and hour, and human rights issues, represents organization at related hearings and investigations.
-Participates in staff meetings and weekly Pit Crew meetings; attends other meetings and seminars as needed.
-Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
-Maintains compliance with State and Federal employment law and identifies regulations affecting the human resource function.
-Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
-Manages pre-determined cycles of improvement.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
-A bachelor’s degree and three to five years of Human Resource experience, or seven to ten years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
-Requires considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the individual to be visible and approachable in their locations, and to partner with location management and supervisory teams to manage with even-handed, consistent practices that are in the best interest of the company at all times.
Reliable transportation, and ability to travel when necessary.
